Home PC Repair 101: Understanding The Fundamentals

When my youngest son's laptop suffered a sudden hard drive failure, I was struck by how little I actually knew about how to fix it - or if it could be fixed. After talking with my local technical support and computer repair specialists, I decided it was time to learn. I didn't want to find myself in a similar position again without some idea of what I could do about it. I spent months researching the logistics of computer repair and how the components worked together. That's when I realized that although computers are in so many homes, many other people are just like me - unsure how to deal with computer problems. I created this site to help solve that problem. I hope the information here helps you to demystify your home computers and the problems you might have with them.

Be Prepared For An Emergency: Why Your Business Needs Indoor Public Safety Coverage

If you own a business and you haven't invested in an indoor public safety coverage system yet, it's time to do that. Without indoor public safety coverage, you might not be as prepared for an emergency as you should be. In fact, without this type of coverage, your communications might be completely cut off during an emergency. This is especially true for anyone in your office who might be out of range for cell reception. Unfortunately, this can happen for a variety of reasons including cell tower location, building material, or employee location within the building. That's where indoor public safety coverage comes into the picture. Here are just four of the reasons you need to have indoor public safety coverage during an emergency situation.

Distress Calls

When you own a business, you take steps to provide a safe environment for your employees and for your customers. Unfortunately, that's not always possible. When an emergency situation does occur, you need to know that you can get emergency calls out of the building. Unfortunately, that's not always the case. There may be areas of the building where cell reception is non-existent. If that's the case, those distress calls might not make it out. That's where indoor public safety coverage comes into the picture. With this type of coverage, you know that distress calls will make it out to the first responders.

Mass Notifications

If you have implemented a mass notification system for your place of business, you've taken a big step towards safety. Mass notifications ensure that everyone on the list receives emergency notifications at the same time. However, if connectivity is lacking in your place of business, those mass notifications might not get sent to everyone on the list. In fact, they might not get sent out at all. To make sure that everyone on the list receives those emergency notifications, invest in indoor public safety coverage. With indoor public safety coverage, you'll be ensured that everyone on your emergency list receives those notifications immediately.

Interoffice Networks

If you run a large commercial complex, you need to know that all of your employees are connected, especially during an emergency. Without connectivity, an emergency situation might not be transmitted to the rest of the office. That's why you need indoor public safety coverage. With this type of coverage, an employee can communicate emergency situations to the rest of the office in a timely manner.

First Responder Access

Finally, when you're faced with an office emergency, you need to know that first responders can communicate with each other. This is especially important during natural disasters, such as fires and earthquakes, or during a criminal threat such as an active shooter situation. Unfortunately, issues with connectivity can make first responder communication nearly impossible. To make sure that first responders can communicate effectively during an emergency, invest in indoor public safety coverage.
